Who handles your information
Flackton Yachting is the trading name of FLACKTON LIMITED, registered in Cyprus under company number HE 357501. Its registered office is at 6 Kolokotroni Street, 1st Floor, Office 6, 1101 Nicosia, Cyprus. Vassilis receives enquiry notifications and handles customer correspondence. Our website administrator can access stored form submissions when needed to administer the website, investigate a problem or carry out a deletion request. The main contact for enquiries, privacy questions and requests is info@flacktonyachting.com.
What we collect
When you make an enquiry, we may receive your name, contact details and the information you choose to provide about a yacht, charter, transaction, timing or budget. We do not ask for passwords or payment-card details through these forms.
For newsletter requests, we collect your email address, the submission date and time, and the version of the consent wording you accepted.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the service you request.
- To maintain the correspondence and records reasonably needed to manage that request.
- To protect the website and forms from misuse.
Newsletter signup is optional and separate from making an enquiry. We use your email address to review your request and, with your consent, send yacht listings and company news. Permission to answer an enquiry does not include permission to send marketing.
Legal bases for these purposes
The following bases are proposed for this preview and must be confirmed against the company's operating arrangements before this notice is finalised.
- Enquiries about entering a contract with you personally: taking steps at your request before a contract, or performing that contract, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- General enquiries, correspondence with business representatives and website security: legitimate interests in responding to requests, maintaining relevant correspondence and preventing abuse, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, subject to assessing your rights and interests.
- Optional marketing: separate consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Permission to answer an enquiry is not permission to send marketing.
- Records that must be retained to meet a specific legal obligation: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, where that obligation applies.
Choices saved in your browser
When you use the shortlist or currency controls, the website remembers your selection in this browser. These preferences do not have an automatic expiry; you can remove shortlist items or clear this website's data in your browser settings. The updated website does not record or display a recently viewed yacht history. History saved by an older version can remain on your device until you clear the site's data, but this version does not use it.
The CELIA P deck guide also remembers, for the current tab session, when you have opened the guide. Clearing site data resets these saved choices.
Website statistics
On our public website, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views, visits and page-loading performance to help us improve the website. Cloudflare states that this service does not track individual visitors or collect or use visitors’ personal data. It is disabled on preview addresses and in the downloadable presentation. About Cloudflare Web Analytics.
With your permission, we use PostHog Cloud EU to measure page openings and exits, time on a page, scroll depth, page-loading performance, approximate countries, device types, website languages, brochure and film link clicks, and accepted enquiry submissions. PostHog loads only after you choose Accept analytics. You can decline or change your choice using Analytics choices at the foot of each public page. We remember your choice in this browser for 180 days. PostHog uses browser storage to recognise returning browsers; we do not identify you by name or email, create person profiles, record your screen, or send enquiry contents to analytics. Whole URL query strings and fragments are excluded. After consent, we retain only approved source, medium, campaign and creative codes to understand how advertising leads to yacht interest. These codes contain no customer details and stay associated with the recorded session. PostHog’s current free plan retains event history for up to one year. The relevant yacht ID or form type accompanies an event. IP addresses can be used to estimate location before being discarded, and analytics data is processed in PostHog's EU region. A brochure or film click does not confirm a completed download or viewing; an accepted submission does not confirm email delivery. For consenting visitors using forms that redirect after submission, a temporary confirmation marker in this tab prevents counting a refreshed thank-you page again; it contains no enquiry details and expires for counting after 20 minutes. Tracking is disabled on preview addresses, in the Studio and on non-public catalogue pages and presentations. Older figures remain in our Umami account as historical statistics. PostHog privacy information.
With analytics consent, we also count accepted newsletter requests without sending the email address or consent wording to analytics. An accepted request does not confirm addition to the mailing list or delivery of a newsletter.
WhatsApp reply requests
The website does not publish a personal WhatsApp number. If you choose WhatsApp as your preferred reply method, you authorise Flackton Yachting to contact the number you provide about your enquiry. We do not add that number to marketing lists without separate permission.
Service providers and international handling
Netlify hosts the website and processes its enquiry forms. Hosting and security services may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser request details. Processing can take place outside the European Economic Area. Netlify's published Data Processing Agreement describes its processing commitments and international-transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable. The account arrangements and any other providers handling enquiry records remain part of the review before this notice is finalised.
Enquiry submissions are screened for spam by Netlify and its spam-filtering provider, Akismet. These forms do not load Google reCAPTCHA.
Playing an embedded third-party video or following a link to another website may connect your browser to that provider. Its own privacy information applies to its service.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish genuine enquiries from automated submissions. Your browser connects to Cloudflare for this security check, which processes technical information such as IP address and browser signals. The result is verified before an enquiry is passed to Netlify Forms. We do not enable Turnstile pre-clearance cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile privacy information.
Newsletter requests use the website-form and security providers described above and are sent to our business mailbox for review. An email marketing service based in the United States stores the subscriber list and distributes newsletters on our behalf. Its published data-processing terms provide for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where required, standard contractual clauses. You can contact info@flacktonyachting.com for details of the providers and relevant transfer safeguards.
Retention and your choices
Our policy is to delete enquiries that do not lead to an ongoing client relationship or a transaction 12 months after the last meaningful contact. This rule covers the enquiry records in Netlify and the related mailbox correspondence. For active clients and completed transactions, we retain only the records needed for the relationship, applicable legal obligations or the defence of claims. Statutory retention periods for transaction records are to be confirmed with our accountant. You may ask to access, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You may also complain to the data-protection authority that applies to you.
Newsletter requests that are not added to the mailing list are deleted from the website form records and related mailbox correspondence after 30 days. We keep active subscriptions until you unsubscribe. After withdrawal, we retain only limited consent evidence and an unsubscribe record to demonstrate your choice and prevent accidental re-subscription. We review these records annually while the newsletter operates and delete records that are no longer needed. These newsletter rules are separate from the enquiry-retention rule above.
Contact and complaints
You can send a privacy request to info@flacktonyachting.com. Vassilis handles the request, with our website administrator assisting with stored website form records where needed. Where the GDPR conditions apply, you may also request data portability. You can complain to the Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, or to the supervisory authority in the EU country where you normally live, work or believe an infringement occurred.
Before sending sensitive information
Please do not use the public forms for passports, bank statements, tax records, credit files or other highly sensitive documents. Contact Vassilis first so an appropriate exchange method can be agreed.
